We are totally fascinated  with the Vedic philosophy and lifestyle presented by Srila Prabhupada and his disciples.

There are lectures and seminars occurring all over the ISKCON World. If you are not present it’s unlikely you will know about the contents. Even when you are present the memory does not serve as well as you would like.

ISKCON Transcriptions is a new web site which brings transcriptions of seminars and lectures to a computer near you.

The material on the ISKCON Transcription website can be used for research and education purposes. It is fully searchable and constantly updated with new transcriptions.

How did the idea for the site come about?

I am huge admirer of the seminars and lectures in ISKCON and I listen to them on my iPod almost every day. Sometimes while hearing some amazing realization and philosophical points  I get this strong desire to share it with everyone.

This incredible understanding and realizations which we can get through listening will inspire us spiritually and will help us to understand  transcendental message of Srila Prabhupada.

The memory is short in Kali-Yuga and we easily forget things. Sometime we would like to quickly go back and search trough some interesting and important words. We also want sometime to share realizations we found very interesting with our friends. So with this in mind, I decided to dedicate some of my time and energy and try to transcribe most popular seminars and lectures and share it with everyone!

Is there a team of people working on this project?

We have one devotee Lana mataji  from Russia working on the translation to Russian. We also use oDesk (www. odesk.com) contractors to do the transcription. And currently we are looking for Spanish translator and English editor to correct Sanskrit terms and other English grammar. We  pay to all people who work with us for their service as the gesture of the appreciation for they amazing work.

What kind of effort and planning went into producing the site.

We have researched different suitable hosting and web development option and got end up with Word Press as the main web engine. We planed and researched transcription outsourcing options.  We have looked around and got inspiration from different website examples from the web, which aims at sharing information in most accessible way.

what should people expect to find when they come to your site.

They should be able to find transcription of the interesting ISKCON seminars lectures on the Vedic philosophy and life style, search through them and use material for research or study. I am aiming at hoping for comments and questions and in the future if this project has success it will provide Q and A option and discussions with author of the seminar. I am also trying to provide many reference links to  Srila Prabhupada’s books on www.vedabse.net. It also has “Share on Facebook” option to facilitate sharing between devote community on the Facebook.

What kind of feedback are you getting what are people saying

We just started, and so far we had few positive feedback but we looking forward and hopping for many questions, comments and feedback to come. We had a few concerns because it’s a large project, which requires long term commitment. But we have positive thinking and our endeavours are to make this in to something useful and beneficial for everyone.

How can people help you, what can they help with

Yes, help is needed and appreciated! We can pay you for doing transcriptions, translations and editing. Or you can sponsor transcription of the  seminar or you can share this with others … and so many things. We can all work together – share and live this wonderful philosophy and culture!!
